Filmtheater Friedrichshain
The 'Filmtheater am FH' was opened in 1925. After the fall of the Berlin wall it was almost torn down. But director Michael Verhoeven bought the cinema in 1995 and rebuilt it as a 5-hall movie theatre in collaboration with 'Yorck-Kino GmbH'. Since then the façade of the cinema regained its original look it had when it was opened in 1925. Opposite the 'Friedrichshain' the building ascends with its triangle gable and its free staircase above streetlevel. In summer an inviting outside terrace makes you want to stop for a drink. The programme orientates towards european movie art and independent cinema from the United States. A special event are the sneak previews monday nights at 11pm. The movie isn't announced in advance and it hasn't been released in Germany before.
